It’s happening everywhere. And it’s happening far too often. Predators are dressing up as utility workers, delivery people, police, or whatever, and trying to gain access to your home. And they’re doing it successfully…

“Fake Utility Workers” Home Invasion

A 61 year old man was tied up and beaten by two men posing as Verizon workers.

According to the article, when the homeowner opened the door, the men rushed in and placed him in a chokehold.

They tied him up, beat him and even put a gun in his mouth demanding money from him.

They escaped with approximately $80,000 in money and jewelry.

“Delivery Driver” Home Invasion

A man dressed as a delivery driver and holding an empty Amazon box approached a home and knocked on the door. When the homeowner opened the door, the man pulled out a sawed-off shotgun.

The homeowner, who’s young daughter was also home, wrestled with the man and, amazingly, was able to disarm him. Neighbors, hearing shouting, came to his aid and they were able to restrain him.

This one had a better ending than most home invasions. But it’s still not something anyone wants to go through.

“Fake Maintenance Workers” Home Invasion

Two men dressed as maintenance workers knocked on the door of an apartment. The victim thought that they were maintenance workers for the apartment complex, so he opened the door.

“They had on green reflective vests, clipboard, the whole nine,” the victim said. “I just assumed they wanted to talk to me about something they were fixing outside my apartment...”

As soon as he opened the door, the two men rushed in. One was caring a firearm, the other a taser. The victim said they had duct tape and they kept asking him where the money was located.

“I also gave all the money in my wallet. They didn’t seem to want it,” the victim said.

That’s when he realized they might have had the wrong apartment. The crooks left the apartment with the victim’s keys and phone. The victim, fortunately, was unharmed.

“Fake Police” Home Invasion

In a highly disturbing home invasion, an elderly woman was beaten (and eventually died) at the hands of two men posing as police. The woman was found “clinging to life” long after the men had left her house.

Neighbors said she would not have let in strangers, so she clearly thought that they were legitimate policemen.

At this point, there is no reason listed as to why they attacked her. Although it was probably about money (at least that’s my opinion).

This particular home invasion story truly upset me. Evil exists, my friends. Please be aware and be suspicious of everyone…

When someone knocks on your door, ask who it is.

If it is a stranger, do not let them in. And if you are alone, do not give any indication that you are!

If they say they are law enforcement, a utility worker, delivery person, or whatever, ask for their name. Then call the appropriate business or organization to confirm they are legitimate.

If anything seems hinky, call the police

If you have roommates, family members or visitors, make sure they understand this as well. It’s easy to assume that someone else in the house is expecting a delivery. Check first!

NO Stranger gets in your home. Ever.

You do not want to become an unwilling participant in a horrific home invasion.
